: I am an engineer, no longer employed by a company which has contacted me demanding I assign all rights/power of attorney back to them regarding a patent which I was jointly granted during my employment. Must I assign these rights? The patent has indications of becoming extremely lucrative and I wish to be compensated prior to my assignment.
