: : am I correct in assuming that, if this application becomes a registered mark, it will only protect the use of the logo, and not the use of the word itself? : if so, is my next course of action to file another application for the wordmark only? : I'm new at this, so I'm a bit fuzzy on such specifics. : thanks, : Allen Boudreaux Dear Mr. Boudreaux, You are so new at this that you don't realize that lawyer are to clients like women are to men. If you really want to do it yourself, you might get more information by clicking on the Trademark Page of this forum. Once you find it you have to understand it. Make a mistake and it costs. Notice, Early Legal Advice Is Not Expensive. You can buy Gray's Anatomy and take care of your health too. I sympathize with a desire to save money but I would not walk in an unknown Jungle without a guide. M. Arthur Auslander
