: Dear Sirs, : I´m a freelance translator and journalist from Germany and in the process of writing a book on the NHL 02/03 season. My basic question is: can I use the names "NHL" or "National Hockey League" or the names of the franchises in this book without infringing a law? Obviously I would have to do that to finish this book. There won´t be any NHL shield pictures or team logos there, just the words and phrases mentioned above and e.g. Detroit Red Wings, Wayne Gretzky or Pittsburgh Penguins. : This publication would be in no way affiliated with the NHL, so-called not official. Believe it or not, I contacted the NHL on this behalf, but nobody could give me an answer. : Any help is highly appreciated and welcome! : Thanks : Juergen
