: I am starting a new business and trying to decide what to name it. There is a name that I like, for example "my-name". However, the word mark "my name"(no hyphen) is registered to another company with an entirely different name. There is no company that is named "my name". In fact, "my name" is the name of a magazine published by the different company. Can I name my company "my-name" without worrying about legal consequences. : Also, can I register the domain name, www.my-name.com?
