How to get experience?[ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Patent Forum ] [ FAQ ] Posted by Nick on July 02, 2003 at 11:10:38: I just recently graduated from a Law School in southern california. I live in Orange County and I have a B.S. in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry. Before I went to Law school I worked in the Microbiology field for a couple of years. For the last few years I've been working within a completely different area of law. I have never been exposed to the area of pattent law but find the field facinating and would love to become a pattent attorney. I'll be taking the general Bar next year. In the meanwhile I have registered to take the October Pattent Bar. My 1st question is; how is the job market for a pattent attorney with a Science background? My 2nd question is; If I want to gain experience in this field, where do I begin? For example when I first become a pattent agent, how can I gain experience in this field until I take the General bar exam to become an attorney? Do law firms hire pattent agents? Thank you very much for your help. I'd appreciate any suggestions.
