: All:
: This is a dumb question but what is the main difference between a patent agent and patent attorney? I know the patent attorney has to pass a state bar and go through law school in addition to going through the USPTO bar.

: Also, is doing the patent agent path a good lead in to becoming a patent attorney. What does an agent make in comparison to his attorney counterpart? Thanks.
: Cal.

Dear Cal,
The patent attorney, has no professional limits on what can be done. He (or she) can quality or practice law of all kinds, in the office as well as the courts, that is both Federal and Local.
