Idea patent?

I live in Cyprus and I have a fantastic idea for an addition to upcoming mobile phones which would make them alot more desirable to the end user... what documentation would I need to have before approaching the manufacturers bearing in mind, it would be impossible for me to "invent" this peripheral seeing as it would need to be incoporated into the phones computer ciruitry?
