: : : I live in Cyprus and I have a fantastic idea for an addition to upcoming mobile phones which would make them alot more desirable to the end user... what documentation would I need to have before approaching the manufacturers bearing in mind, it would be impossible for me to "invent" this peripheral seeing as it would need to be incoporated into the phones computer ciruitry?

: : Dear Mr. Neoleous,

: : The safest way would be to get a confidenitiality agreement in advance of disclosure. That us usually not easy. Without basic patent right to you as inventor it ought to be hard to protect the "idea".

: Thank you for your swift reply...
: Is it possible to draft up a confidenitiality agreement stating that on the hearing of said idea that it may not be used by that company if not bought by the creator of the "idea". What if the company says no and then gives the idea to someone else, possibly a sister company. Or what if they tell another individual who then claims he/she thought of the idea. Is there any way to at least prove that I thought of it first?

Dear Mr. Neocleous,

A good Intellectual Property lawyer can trust would have to advise you as to the civil law in Cyprus. Understand that is law was clear and certain there would be no lawyers.

The firet problem is to find the person to disclose to, without giving away seccrets and then to get an agreement the gives the best protection.
