Need advice .

hi,
iam have a general idea in mind which a lot of companies can make money out of it.Now i dont know under which category i can get a patent.
eg..
1. process
2. copyright
3. trade secret.

and of course the main objective is to make money by selling the idea

Let me explain

imagine that all the banks in the world do not issue account statements to their customers.
iam one of their customers and..now, i have got an idea that issueing account statements to the customers would be a great service which the customers can benifit from.( imagine that no one has proposed this idea till now , nor any bank has this feature ).

Now comes the real problem.

1.what should i do? go and talk to a bank guy about this new feature.and if he is satisfied, then ask for money for telling him this idea.
2.apply for a patent for this idea? if so under what category (process,copyright,tradesecret etc etc...)
3.start a bank with this new feature?... ha ha ha. i cant afford this ....

and ..etc .....
