: With your permission to post this message Sir; : ---------------- : A fool has come up with the following scam to extract monies from naive patent holders: : He mails a postcard to patent holder indicating their patent(s) is/are being cited in another patent and he/she should send for a copy of violating patent and $50 to order it, to: : M. Myers : 1141 Westbuery Rd, : Box 175 : Jenkintown, PA 19046 : Notice, above is a PO Box and no phone number is provided. : The inventor who contacted me asked if he should mail $50. He did not realize it was a scam. His patent issued in 1999. When I looked at his patent on it was cited 4 "prior art" patents indicating persons who'd patented similar devices. All but one had expired (run its full term and expired - versus - non payment of maintenance fees etc). The only in-force patent was dissimilar enough not to be an issue. : I hope inventors reading above do not fall for this scam if a postcard from the above imbecile arrives in mailbox.
