Upon filing for an application of patent in my country of residence/origin, Malaysia, i was given the impression that i needed only file in any country in the rest of the world, within a year of granting of patent. However, now i am told that to file for an application within the United States, or elsewhere, the application has to be within a year of the original filing of application, and not the actual granting of the patent.
