Dear Sirs/Madams, I am in somewhat of a dilema. Upon filing for an application of patent in my country of residence/origin, Malaysia, i was given the impression that i needed only file in any country in the rest of the world, within a year of granting of patent. However, now i am told that to file for an application within the United States, or elsewhere, the application has to be within a year of the original filing of application, and not the actual granting of the patent. Are there any solutions or remedies to this situation? Feeling very badly in despair, If my patent has not been filed in a particular country, does this mean that i do not have rights to the patent in that country? Yours faithfully, Nantha Kumar
