: I have lodged a provisional patent in Jan 2001. I am planning to sell the idea. Is it adivcable to sell the idea at this stage. It will be highly appreciated if you could advice me on how to go about withit. I find it very hard to go with a confidentiality agreement to businesses as it is acting more as a negative factor in my pursiut to sell my idea. Is it advisable for me go ahead with the proposal without a confidentiality agreement. Are my rights lost in the process of doing this. Very happy if you could help. Dear Rao Guidipati, If you have prepared the provisional application without professional help it may be valueless. The provisional application must be written to be able to support broad claims that have value. What assurance do you have that the idea is saleable? If you have anything of value it is even more important to maintain confidentialy as long as possible. I hope you are at least fooling yourself by what you are doing rather than being in the hands of the professional scam artists. M. Arthur Auslander
