I have an idea that will require the use of commercially available components. My idea, however, is to take these components purchased from company "X" and modify them to fit my design. The components are electronic and are packaged in their unique format. My intent is to take their electronics and put them in a package of my design. Is this a legal method for creating a patentable device?
