A list of trivia as included in a game (e.g., "Trivial Pursuit") or a book (e.g., an almanac or encyclopedia) While the idea of a trivia game or "book of lists" devoted to a particular subject (like game shows or popular music) cannot be protected . . . the sweat equity it takes to put such a COMPILATION together and to promote their efforts can be protected. For newcomers to the field, the original and best source for the material should always be consulted, rather than merely copying the work done before.
