A buddy of mine has bought a few copies of a DVD from a Canadian web-site, and is selling these on E-Bay for a reasonable profit since the DVD isn't widely available in the USA. He's now recieved notice of an impending cease-and-desist order from a guy claiming to own the US distribution rights for the movie. Since my buddy has acquired these non-bootleg DVDs from a legit source in Canada, does this guy have any recourse against him? Surely they are his property and he can do with them as he wishes?
