Author Topic: After copyright expires on an item, is it the case that no one has rights to it?  (Read 96 times)

If the item is, say, a photograph, and the copyright has expired, can someone then copyright it for themselves?  Or is it in the public domain forever after?

It enters the public domain.  No one else can re-copyright it.  Everyone can use it.
