TRANSLATING ARTICLES
« on: 11-29-17 at 02:12 pm »

 HELLO EVERYONE
I'm a new member of the forum, and i would like someone to answer my question if possible.
is it ok if someone translate an article to put it in his blog, with a mention of the origin of the article and a link to it, or it would be a copyright transgression even though, knowing that contactiong the owner of some articles isn't always easy.
the same question for  when someone create an article based on many other articles.
thank you for everyone who has read this and who  would answer me.

Translating and republishing a work would be a copyright violation.  It doesn't matter if you give credit, or a link...  you can't use someone else's (copyrighted) works without their permission.

As for an article that is based on many articles, here is what you need to remember.  Copyright protects original creative expressions, but it does NOT protect ideas or information.

So you can draw information from many articles and write your own, as long as you do not use their words.  (And that would include a direct translation of their words if they are in a different language.)
