trademark website name
« on: 11-14-17 at 05:17 pm »

I would like to trademark my website name, but currently I have no intent to use the name to sell anything. Would this be possible... or do i need to eventually sell something using the trademarked name?

I would able appreciate any input.

Thank you..

Yes.

Trademarks identify the source of goods or services.

A website provides global access to particular information via the Internet.  That is a service, and your website identifies you as the source of that service.

Look up the trademarks for popular information sites like WebMD.

You don't need to sell anything.

You are providing information via a website, and that is a service.

Trademarks can apply to services.
