public domain photo for logo
« on: 07-09-17 at 10:47 pm »

I obtained a stethoscope photo downloaded as a public domain from Pixabay website. Can I use this photo as part of my company logo and not worry? Thank you.

If the photo is actually in the public domain, you can certainly incorporate it into your logo.

However, you are relying on the assurance of Pixabay, and if you read their Terms of Service, they go to great lengths to avoid liability.  I don't know how they verify the origin of images uploaded to their site, but it's entirely possible that some of the images are actually protected by copyright.

Personally, rather than taking a chance on Pixabay, I'd purchase an image from a reputable stock photo site.
