Plant extract broadly and its constituents

I am working on a plant extract and isolated a constituent (A) which provides good skin whitening effect. While patent search, I found that there is an active patent (P)  that claim broadly the use of that plant extract in cosmetic field.  If I am planning to commercialize a skin whitening product with A, am I infringing the patent P? The plant extract contains other constituents also along with A which I am not using in my formulation.
