use of animated character image in book

Hi. I would like to use a few images from The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show, 1983 animation, inside my ebook.

can I do that?

the images are for exemplify a social situation.

No.

There are limited circumstances that allow you to use someone else's copyrighted material (search for "fair use.")

But in general, you can't copy or distribute work that was created by someone else.

You may also be able to buy a license to use the cartoons.  It looks like "Peanuts" is handled by its own licensing operation.
