Is paraphrasing safe?
« on: 09-13-16 at 05:16 am »

I want to launch my mobile game trailer and use in it paraphrased sentence

it was coined by Bill Murray - "if Monday had a face I would punch it"
i want to paraphrase it leaving ("if Monday had a face ......." ) and adding my twist on it.

i don't know if I can do it in commercial trailer. Should I give a credit to him in credits section? Or is it dangerous and should I completely drop the idea?
many thanks!

It's possible to use or register a phrase like that as a trademark, which you can search for if you want.  If no one has used or registered it as a trademark for games in the market(s) you want to enter, then you would be able to use it and to register it if you want.
