I think it would be helpful for some people to share their experiences at the Patent Training Academy.

I'll throw my 2 cents in later on, I just wanted to throw the idea out there before I forgot.

I anticipate that many people on this forum may soon be moving to the DC area because of the recent openings for patent examiners at the PTO.  To eliminate clutter from my other thread relating to the hiring process at the PTO, I figured it would be a good idea to start another thread where people can ask about where to live in DC.

I'd like to keep this thread focused on where to live in DC.   If you have questions regarding the hiring process, please post in this thread      http://www.intelproplaw.com/ip_forum/index.php/topic,15174.0.html

I figured it would be a good time to start up a new thread, as the other one dates back to 2005, and has also become cluttered with people asking for general career advice, where to live, etc...

I'd like to keep this thread focused on information relating to the hiring process   If you have questions relating about where to live in the DC area, please post in this thread:    http://www.intelproplaw.com/ip_forum/index.php/topic,15175.0.html

To start off, I applied for the Mechanical Engineering Patent Examiner position at the GS-9/7 level.  I have a JD, have been a registered patent agent for 2 years, and have about 4 years worth of relevant patent experience.

I applied for the position on 08/16 and received my NOR on 08/23.  When I receive any further information I will make sure to update.

Good luck to everyone!
