Hi.
What does it mean that
The ACAD warrants to the SOH that it has the full power to make this agreement and confirms that it is acting on behalf of itself.

?Thanks in advance

Hello.
Does translating a part of the introduction to a book for someone  constitute a  copyright breach?
What about the act of a person who refers to a translator with it?

Thanks in advance

Copyright Forum / Fair use?!
05-26-15 at 06:52 PM
Hello.
An author has placed a pre-print version of his book on his website. Now  the question is, is translating a few chapters of that book considered 'fair use'? My professor wanted me to translate them so that he  can use in his class the next semester.

Hi.
What does issue mean in:
Quote
The Publishers shall neither assign this license nor issue the said translation of the said work under any imprint other than their own without the previous written consent of the Proprietors
?

Thanks in advance

Hello.
A representative of a Copyright holder had previously sent me an agreement containing 15 clauses. As clauses related to monetary terms were tough on me, I refused from signing the contracted and abandoned the translation. The next year we agreed on new monetary terms -10% of the gross sales within each year- and I again continued the translation. Since then they helped me a lot. When I finished the translation I asked him what to do  and  he said "when you finished the translation send two copies to[..]". I started publishing the book as he had allowed me to do so. Then I feared that since we had signed no contract they would sue me if I send them two copies and requested that he send me a  contract, but he refused to create a new contract (maybe he thought that he had already  included the terms,  however it is unlikely since I had sent him the contract).
Then I consulted about the contract with my publisher and he told me that Copyright is not observed in Iran and the contract was not for me as they assumed they were the right-holders and that what does he expect us to do. I  conveyed him all that my publisher told me, but I asked that last question on my own part as  it was yet unclear to me.  But instead of replying, he got angry, denied me the publishing,  said he has not enough time and that he won't answer anymore of my emails, and told me to do whatever I want and then put three exclamation marks.

Now the book is stopped at the verge of being printed, and I really don't know what to do. Any idea?
