Copyright Forum / Question pertaining to fiction writing
« on: 02-14-12 at 07:44 pm »
I'm writing a novel set in a certain Dominican Republic resort I've never been to. I've changed the name of the place but I've been trying to portray it as accurately as possible. To this end, I've been reading blog posts about the resort (on a blog that is run by the resort), and incorporating some details gleaned from it into my story -- things about the plant life and so forth. I haven't been copying anything word for word or even close.

My question is: am I in any danger of violating any copyright laws?

Sorry if this is a dumb question.
