Utility patent

I filed a provisional patent on something that was invented a long time ago.
There is another use application using it.
Problem is there are at least 15 inexpensive different mechanical ways to make what I consider a change to improve or "hack" it. 
In other words even if I get a patent on what I invented users can purchase what is being sold many years ago and hack it rather than buying a new 2024 patented version.
