Thanks for the heads up.  We removed the menu.  We will put it back after we have updated the website's content, and we will fix the overlaping issue.

Spammers are interested in posting links to other websites.  We have implemented a protocol for approving posters that weeds out spammers.  Only approved users can post links to other sites.  At any rate, it appears that our spam systems are working properly.  Hopefully this activity will die down.

We covered off a number of other external links, including "www", "a href" and "http://".  If you notice any bugs then let us know.

It appears some spam is still getting rhrough. We will fix the issue shortly.

Of course it was easy to stop the spam by preventing new registrations.  However that takes away the community feel of the forums.  We have updated the software to prevent postings that contain external links for users until they are approved.  Anyways, we will see how that works.

We are back online.  Hopefully the new restrictions will reduce the spam without unduly restricting contributions.

We hope these restrictions will be temporary. 

We have decided to get new hardware and do a complete update to the software.  We remain committed to this site and we thank everyone for their understanding.

Upgrades require time on my part which I do not have at this time.  I will likely upgrade to the latest version at year-end, that is the plan.  I am making modifications to the code in order to reduce spam.  This will process will likely take a couple of weeks to complete the changes and for spammers to figure out that it will be easier to simply go somewhere else.

As far as other moderators or spam killers go, I would like to keep things simple on these forums.

The IP wiki is now open.  Report any problems.

Due to excessive and very graphic spam we have removed images.  We are trying other mechanisms to reduce spam and will permit images at a later date if we are successful.

I have added some of the codes back.  Let me know if I should add any others back.

There have been reports of increased spam.  Thanks for the reports.  We will be addressing it shortly.

Oddly enough I am pretty sure that last server was a P4 at 2.8ghz and SCSI drives. 

We have installed the new hardware and software on the server.  Be sure to report any problems.

We ran a simple test.  The same activity took 41 seconds on the new server and took 28 minutes and 25 seconds on the old server!!!!  The command was:  tar -x -f lawservertar -z -p

We will be upgrading to the latest hardware and operating system over the next month or so.  This should speed things up.
