Addition to a hybrid car

I have an idea for an addition to a hybrid car, but was rejected by invent help. Can I have advice on how to get this idea patented?

First, check out InventHelp carefully.  They are not patent practitioners and I doubt they gave you a patentability opinion.  If you're interested in doing it yourself (not recommended), get your hands on "Patent It Yourself" by Pressman, published by Nolo.  If it truly is an invention upon which you want to build your future, you need to treat it as such and be ready to invest some time in money bringing it to fruition.  Good luck.
Oh, one more thing.  Bare ideas, without more, are not patentable.  One must show others how to make and use the invention.

Isn't InventHelp one of those invention submission companies designed to seperate inventors from their money? I thought they tell everyone that their idea is the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Are there invention submission companies out there that are a good deal for inventors?

I took a peak at the InventHelp site and they explicitly say they will not provide patent advice and also say to contact a patent attorney.

They will provide a referral to a patent attorney, though.

On its surface, InventHelp appears to perhaps be a way to help independent inventors get their ideas before investors. Perhaps a good service for a non-connected person who comes up with an idea.

Usual disclaimers, I could very well be completely wrong, blah, blah, blah.
