General idea which own rational prupose to use.

I wish to know can I patent a general idea, example - a slogan or text on the shovel. And this shovel can use a protest or just show informat which own rational purpose (text - your novel or poem).

"General idea" is too general an idea for me to say much about.

If the idea is novel and non-obvious and technical (at least a little bit -- e.g., the manner in which things getting written on the shovel), you can apply for a utility patent.

If the idea is an aesthetic, industrial design, you can apply for a design patent.

If the idea is the precise thing you'll write on the shovel, and that thing is original (not copied), you can apply for copyright registration.

If the idea is the precise thing you'll write on the shovel, and that thing is to identify the maker/distributor of the shovel, you can try to protect that thing as a trademark.

Regards.
