Ha! Just "found" this:
Drawings
1. The drawings are to be made on sheets having the following minimum margins: top and left side 2.5 cm, right side 1.5 cm, bottom 1 cm; the used surface may not exceed 26.2 cm x 17 cm. For the drawing which is to accompany the abstract the used surface may also be 8.1 cm x 9.4 cm in portrait format or 17.4 cm x 4.5 cm in landscape format.
2. The drawings must be made with sufficient contrast, in durable black, sufficiently dense and dark, uniformly thick and clearly traced lines and strokes without colouring.
3. In addition to views and sectional drawings, perspective views or exploded views may also be used to illustrate the invention. Drawings in section are to be hatched in such way that the reading of the reference signs and direction lines is not hindered.
4. The scale and clarity must be such that after electronic scanning, also with a linear reduction to two thirds, all details are clearly distinguishable without difficulties. If, by way of exception, a scale is mentioned in a drawing, this must be done graphically.
5. The lines in the drawings must not be drawn freehand but must be drawn making use of drawing instruments. The height of the numerals and letters used in drawings must be at least 0.32 cm. For the letters in the drawings the Latin alphabet and, where customary, the Greek alphabet must be used.
6. A sheet may contain more than one figure, provided that these are clearly separated from each other without wasting space; in such case the various figures are preferably to be placed in portrait format and to be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. When figures on two or more sheets are intended to form together one complete figure, they must be drawn on the various sheets in such way that the complete figure can be composed without any part of the figures on the respective sheets being covered. Drawings relating to the state of the art, which may be considered for the understanding of the invention, are allowed, but must be clearly provided with the indication 'Stand der Technik' (‘State of the Art'). All parts of a figure must be represented on the same scale, so far as the use of different scales would not be absolutely necessary for the clearness of the figure.
7. Reference signs are allowed only if they appear in the description (and claims), and vice versa; the same applies to the abstract and its accompanying drawing.
8. No explanations may be given in a drawing, but a few brief legends, such as 'water', 'steam', 'open', 'closed', 'section on line A-B' and the like may be inserted where this is absolutely necessary and, in the case of electric circuits and block diagrams or flowcharts, a few short catchwords being indispensable for a proper understanding may be given.
