Patentable?
« on: 02-07-08 at 08:53 pm »

I have an idea that deals with a cleaning solution that already exists, and is made by many companies and is sold at retail stores.  I am simply making the solution look different when it is applied.
Is this Patentable?  If so, is it a Utility or Design Patent?
Thanks in advance!   :)

Your invention may be patentable as a utility patent; but "the devil is in the details."

Without knowing the details of the invention, which should NOT be presented on the forum, there is no way to know.  You might want to consult with a patent agent or patent attorney and disclose the invention to that agent / attorney.  The agent / attorney may suggest a prior art search to estimate what the scope of a potential patent could be.  Then it would be up to you to decide if it is worth the time, money, and effort to pursue patent protection.
