idea disclosure
« on: 02-07-08 at 01:56 am »

Hi,

We have been implementing an idea into workable solution. Some of the colleagues and immediate
seniors are aware of this. But none of this work has been disclosed in public domain, nor any papers
pertaining to this has been presented. Is it okay if we want to go ahead and patent this idea?

I know of some companies I colloborated with where the ideas were actually patented at the end
of the project in one go (well almost). The projects typically ran for couple of years and most of
the people on that project were aware of the idea being implemented as a part of the project.
If I were to take these as example, then it is possible to get the patent even though it has been known
internal to company for quite sometime.

Regards,
