Patent Drafting or Claim Charting Analysis
« on: 11-23-07 at 11:28 pm »

I have been working as a patent consultant since 6 months in India.

I am an engineering graduate with around 4 yrs of exp in industry, albeit new to LPO.

I am being given an option to either choose patent drafting or claim chart analysis.

What should I do ?

Which has better prospects in terms of pay and ladder growth ?

I'm not sure what is LPO but patent drafting in the US requires that are able to write proper English. I'd strongly recommend claim chart analysis as it is easier for a non-native speaker.

LPO is Law Process Ourtsourcing

I am very well aware that patent drafting requires specific english writing skills and there has been an upward trend towards patent drafting being outsourced outside US.

Any surveys which would point towards total revenues generated/expected out of new patent drafting/claim charting analysis ???
