In my practice, when people ask me about a provisional application, a big red flag of doubt....

... a big red flag of doubt is waved in front of my eyes whether or not the person should be filing a patent in the first place. Although a provisional application costs less to file, if it is properly written the preparation costs are no less than for a regular application.

I'm not against patents, I want to help inventors. This includes a measured consideration of all the available fact and the realies of the law. I don't make decisions for my clients, I ask questions.
