$100 registration fee
« on: 08-07-07 at 09:54 am »

I passed the test and am now sending in the data sheet and oath for the register of patent agents and attorneys.  It asks for a $100 registration fee - should this fee be a certified check similar to the fee I paid to take the test?  Would I be better off sending a certified check just to be safe?  Or if they don't want a certified check will they be frustrated if I send one?

i dont know. i sent in a money order like i did with the original app. i'd prefer to use a personal check to have proof and know when they cash it, but i wasn't sure if i could. you could probably call oed and they could answer it easily for you

Save yourself a lot of grief and time (and fee to the bank for a certified check)...pay by credit card.  Just remember to attach the credit payment authorization form.

I sent a personal check for patent exam registration and there were no problems.  As the post above says, they had no hesitation in taking my money!
