patent examiner/agent from pto to private sector

I am currently an examiner at the Patent Office.  I graduated from a state school in EE with a bachelors degree and  recently took the patent practitioner's exam and became an agent.  I've been working at the patent office for about a year.  My question is:

Does anyone know if these are good enough qualifications for getting a job as an agent at a firm, and if most/any firms offer tuition reimbursement for law school? If not I will attend law school while working at the patent office.  Any insight on this path?
