Hi,  I need some advice.  I am a physician who was in a urology residency but my license was suspended for 3 years secondary to disciplinary issues.  I have a bachelors degree also in biology and chemistry from UNC.  Med school at Wake Forest.  Is is possible for me to take the patent bar exam now and become a patent agent?  Or does my history preclude me from it for a period of time?  Thanks!

Thats rough man. If you go to the examination registration website it says the following:

"ii. Disciplined Professionals: Applicants who have been disbarred from practice of law or other
profession, or who have resigned a professional license in lieu of a disciplinary proceeding, are
ineligible to apply for registration for a period of five years from the date of disbarment or
resignation. Applicants suspended on ethical grounds from the practice of law or other profession
are ineligible to apply for registration until expiration of the period of suspension."

That comes from the OED General Requirements Bulletin which can be found by doing a google search for "OED GEN REQUIREMENTS BULLETIN". Open the pdf file, and its down on page 8.

Thanks for the comments.  Thank you Biopico.  After googling tech spec, this definitely seems plausible and worth investigating.  I also found a law firm that after some time as a tech spec, expects you to get your law degree, and they PAY for it!
