Working on IP LLM - career outlook?
« on: 04-22-04 at 06:20 am »

I am working on my LLM in IP in the Midwest, and have about 7 years of engineering experience with major auto suppliers, as well as about 2 years of legal experience, mostly IP related.  What is the career outlook for someone in my position? I should graduate in Jan. 2005.

What are your goals? I assume that you are particularly interested in patent work because you posted to the patent forum.

I don't know that an LLM is of any particular interest to people who employ patent practitioners or litigators.  So the question is whether your studies ae helpful in carrying out your work.  I cannot answer that.

Do you have a JD?  Are you licensed in some state?
