how about my proposal
« on: 11-14-06 at 01:34 am »

I have a proposal and i want to know if it is proper. I think it a good idea to set a sub-forum in this website to practice our drafting skills. For example, in the subforum, any user may provide a simle strucutre, and then other users may make his own draft on the structure and still others may make comments on the drafting. How do you think the proposal?

I'm in. Here we go!

When "i" is used as a first person pronoun, it is capitalized as "I."
"I think it a good idea ..." should probably be corrected to read "I think it is a good idea ..."
The phrase "simle strucutre" should probably be spelled "simple structure."
"How do you think the proposal?" might better be phrased as "What do you think of the proposal?"

Is this what you had in mind?

Cheers

Thank you for correction. As for the proposal I provided, I think you have misunderstood me. What I want is to practice my skills on patent drafting.

Oh, I think he understood your proposal completely.

The Patent Drafting/Interpretation forum covers what you are proposing. Just post your practice claims there and you will probably get some decent feedback not totally focusing on capitalization, spelling and minor grammatical issues.

I was just playing Copper!
I understood you but I saw an opportunity to be a smarty pants.

Regarding your proposal, I could never actually post my current writings on this board. I only write for clients. The material I write is actually not my property and must be maintained in confidence. If I trimmed the material down to render it generic, it would be so altered that peer review would lose its effect.

When I get started writing an application in any field that is new to me, I typically get a few patents from the USPTO website and review them. I do a little searching particularly for terms in claims to find useful claim structure strategies. I have found that very useful. I find stuff I like and stuff I don't like. I always think I could do a better job ... but I try to keep in mind that I don't have pressure from the Examiner as I first write claims. The writer of allowed claims may have had to bend his/her every principle to get a claim allowed.

Don't you have bosses with readily-flowing pens ready to mark your errors in red ink? ... I have such bosses ... they don't miss a thing either.

Cheers and Good Night!
