Trademark within a trademark
« on: 08-14-06 at 10:33 am »

I'm an attorney for a government agency, we are looking to file a trademark for a 4 word slogan.  This slogan will be for a community service joint effort we are doing with a national non-profit agency.  The last word of the statement will be the non-profit's name, which is already trademarked.

It will read something like "Team up with TeamX," where TeamX is the trademarked name of the non-profit.

Non-profit is fully supportive of this.  Are there any problems I should be concerned with?

Thanks.

If you are using another party's tm with its permission, the only issue would be a misunderstanding regarding the scope and conditions of the permission.  A formal, written TM licensing agreement should minimize the risk of such misunderstandings.
