Good references.  Chisum?  Harmon?  Others?

Good references for what, Bill?  When I was doing research at the firms, I always started with Chisum on topics new to me.

Regarding the use of experts in claim construction, and for all other claim construction issues, I'd start with a review of Phillips v. AWH Corp. (Fed. Cir. 2005) (en banc) (PDF).  While some have characterized this case as changing the law on claim construction (see, e.g., the Patently-O Blog), I don't think that's really true.

Anyway, that's my thoughts on your question (even if I drifted a bit ;) ).

Jeff,
Thanks, those are good places to start.  I generally hit Chisum first, too.  Harmon has also been good.
