infringment of copyright via artwork?
« on: 06-18-04 at 01:35 pm »

I am an artist that draws and sells artwork of various historical vehicles.  When I list my artwork for sale I use the name of the vehicle that I have drawn in my description of it as well as on the artwork itself.   This is done so folks searching for a particular piece of art i.e. Chevy, Ford, Harley Davidson, etc, etc can easily find it.
Recently I was contacted by someone who claims they own all the rights to a vehicle that I have drawn and put up for sale and that I am infringing upon their rights and must discontinue using the name.  Do they have grounds?  Am I in violation of rendering "real" items of artwork by listing them for what they are?
Thanks for your help.
