JD and PharmD for patent law

USC, Maryland, Florida, and some other schools have a JD/PharmD program where you can get both in 4 total years. How helpful would the PharmD part be in getting a good IP law job?

I believe that you can get both, in the combined program, in a total of 6 years instead of 7 total. Pharm.D. is 4 years and J.D. is 3 years. The classes overlap in the summers and during the 4th year of Pharm school.

I have both degrees (not in a combined program though) and am doing very well in IP. I think the Pharm.D. is a good degree that provides an understanding of a broad array of fields beyond pharmaceuticals.

I also don't think a lot of people know what a Pharm.D. is. I think as time goes on it will become more known.

In any event, I like the two degrees and I am glad I have both.

where did you get your PharmD? your JD?

Is there anything else you can say about how to enter the profession with both a Jd and a PharmD?
