I wish to make a gift of my trademark to someone (long story). I am having trouble with the USPTO web site while doing this. I go on the ETAS section which is essentially an electronic way to fill out their PTO-1594 form.
I get stuck on the section where it asks to upload an "IMAGE".
Does anyone have any information on what I am suppose to upload? Because the USPTO does not know when I call them on the phone.
This is what I did:
1) One must first click on
http://www.uspto.gov/ .
2) Click on TRADEMARKS (lower left of screen).
3) Locate ASSIGNMENTS on middle right side of screen
4) Click on CHANGE OWNERSHIP
5) Scroll down and click on PLEASE CLICK HERE TO ACCESS ETAS (Electronic Trademark Assignment System) FORMS
6) Under NATURE OF CONVEYANCE, I will select ASSIGNS THE ENTIRE INTEREST AND GOODWILL.
7) Under Correspondence, I will select my info
Under name of submitter, I will insert my info
9) The next screen is info for me (CONVEYING PARTY). I will select INDIVIDUAL, and insert my info
10) Under citizenship, I will insert CALIFORNIA or UNITED STATES
11) Under DATE OF EXECUTION, I will place the date (format: 06/14/2004).
12) Click AD AND GO TO THE NEXT SCREEN
13) Under the name of RECEIVING PARTY DATA, I will select INDIVIDUAL, and insert the person I am transfering the TM to
14) Under CITIZENSHIP, I will insert CALIFORNIA or UNITED STATES
Under address, I will insert the info
15) Click AD AND GO TO THE NEXT SCREEN
16) Under PROPERTY'S, enter:
SERIAL NUMBER 737XXXXX (Click Ad)
REGISTRATION NUMBER 155XXXX (Click Ad)
17) Click NEXT SCREEN
18) IMAGE ATTACHMENTS
The IMAGE ATTACHMENTS is where I have been experienceing trouble. I tried uploading an image of my logo. Then they said to try uplaoding an image of my logo in blk/wht. That didn't work. After nearly two weeks of talking to the USPTO by phone/e-mail, I have gotten no where. THEY DO NOT KNOW what it is that I am suppose to upload through IMAGE ATTACHMENTS!
Per the web sites instructions:
Attach required legal documents
Document pages must be in TIFF image format, single page, letter size (8.5"x11"), 300 dpi, portrait orientation, black and white with black text on white background.
To attach an image file click the "Browse" button and select a TIFF file. Then click the "Attach" button to transmit the file to ETAS.
A thumbnail image will appear on the screen when the file is successfully attached.
QUESTION: Doe anyone know what "IMAGE" I am suppose to upload?
