New to this need help
« on: 02-18-06 at 09:04 pm »

Hi all,

When is says that a generic name can't be trademarked, does that mean it can't be a part of your total trademark?

For example if I wanted to trademark bonejuice or legtea or armcar etc.....  Would those not be considered because they contained juice or tea or car in the phrase?

Also I am totally confused on logo design and not sure what I should do with that.....

Can someone recommend some detailed books or something?

Thanks!

It does not mean that at all.  You will have to disclaim any generic portion, but it's still part of your mark.
