Name change of assignee

If an assignee of a recorded assignment changes its name (a corporation) can something be filed in the PTO assignment records to reflect the name change.  it is not a transfer of assets, just a name change.

Yes.  I've seen this done, but haven't done it myself.

Regards.

Does anybody have any more details regarding this procedure? At around the middle of the page in this link (http://www.baconthomas.com/forms.html), it is stated that a regular assignment form can be used:
Quote
This Assignment form also may be used to record a change of name and/or address of the owner of a patent application or patent.
This is the only information I could find. Any help would be much appreciated.

I think I may have found the answer to my questions. It's all explained here:
http://www.uspto.gov/patents/process/changeownership.jsp#heading-1
Doing things electronically also seems to be intuitive (for example, there's a box you check on the electronic when you want to record a name change). You need some kind of proof also.

Thanks for that bleedingpen. However, it looks like you've got to start one page back here http://epas.uspto.gov/epas/guidelines.jsp and manually click Start to get the form to load.

apparently so.  when you are busy with work sometimes you don't go to check back on your threads to make sure they read as you want.

anyways there is a name change box in the EPAS system.

I appreciate the help. After figuring out why the link didn't work, I thought I'd post the correct link to help others who might need the same information in the future.
