I am studying to be a patent agent at the USPTO. Right now, I have 16
years experience in the high-tech industry Silicon Valley. In a bid to
change to the intellectual property field, I applied for a certain
patent research analyst positions on a telecommute basis. I have got
an interview call from one of the companies.

Can someone please provide inputs on what kind of questions are asked
and what kind of knowledge is expected from the candidate?
I have already read the book
http://www.amazon.com/Patent-Searching-Techniques-David-Hunt/dp
/047178379X and the course material for the patent preparation exams.
Is there anything else that I need to understand or study?
From what I know by an Internet search, the salaries for such position
range from $50-$75,000. Though this represents a heavy pay cut for me,
I am hoping that this experience will help build my resume and once I
finish the US PTO certification, I will be in a position to use this
experience to get a better job.

Any advice appreciated

Do you mean Patent Examiner at the USPTO or Patent Agent to file patents with the USPTO?

Anyway, I'm not really sure how much being a patent searcher/analyst will help you to pass the Registration exam.
(Is the Registration Exam even needed to be an Examiner?)

As far as the patent search job is concerned, it sounds like you are well prepared.
Good luck.
