Do I have a case for a Software Products?
« on: 02-08-12 at 12:20 pm »

Dear Members and Experts,

Thank you for reading my post.

Several years ago I was employed by a software company based in India and during my spare time I had designed and developed software which was not part of my job profile / description. This software as I understand is now extensively used across many projects and has become one of the foundations for delivering multimillion dollar projects across the globe. My previous employer is still using the original code base which I had written and handed out when I left the company. Since there was no formal transfer of ownership and I am the author of this software I wanted to explore the option of claiming ownership and royalty for using this software.

Do you think I have a case?

Thank you in advance.

What do you mean by "handed out when I left the company"?  Sounds like there may have been a sort of implied license.
