qualifying for the PatBAR question - AP credits
« on: 02-06-12 at 01:59 pm »

I want to take the patBAR, and will have to qualify under the unit requirements since I only have a minor in computer science (B.A. in sociology).

The main problem for me is the 8 required units of chem or physics.

I have AP credit which exempted me from Chem 1, so I took Chem 2 in school, the rest of my units are qualifying computer science units.

Does anyone know if this would qualify? or would I have to seek out and take a Chem 1 class from some community college...?

Does your college transcript indicate that you received AP credit for the Chem 1 course? Mine does, so when I applied for the patent bar exam I just marked that line on the transcript with a highlighter. I probably also included a copy of the course description with my application.

Thanks for the reply!

My transcript only says units received for AP Chem.
However, the academic policy states that my AP chem score satisfys Chem 1, and that I was eligible for Chem 2, which I took.

Seems like that should be okay then?
